Amazon Store - UPDATE: Approved

Hey! I’ve always wanted this card, especially with the $70 gift card.

My history started on March 2017. June 2017 I applied and the application didn’t go through. It wasn’t a hard no though- it was because I had a freeze on my report at the time and I was unable to prove my identity because Experian took forever to mail back something I needed at the time.

My current stats are AAoA 12 months, 713-727 scores, Capital One Secured 12 months and Discover IT 5 months.

What do you guys think? I’m primarily concerned that I applied last year but nothing ever came of it. I dunno whether I should wait for June to pass.

Re: Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa

Forgot to post my INQs. Experian 8 (7 truly, two are auto loans within same month) and TU 2 (one is past the one year mark). I dont have access to equifax.

Re: Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa

Chase is generally known to pull both EX/EQ. In your case, I think it may be risky applying for it since you have a thin file. I would recommend the Amazon Store Card instead as it's backed by Synchrony and they usually have lighter UW standards vs. Chase. In the mean time, I would try to add another card or two (take a look at AmEx, they are known to be thin file friendly.).

Re: Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa

I see.

I actually applied for Amex a few days after Discover, which was a mistake. October 2018 I had a car loan AND Discover, which is probably why they rejected me. I tried to ask for recon but wasn’t willing for another HP.

Re: Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa

My stats and history seem similar to yours, and I recently applied and was approved for the Amazon Prime store card. It only got me a $20 gift card, but even that was a nice bonus, and maybe I can let that grow a bit and then apply for the Amazon Visa. I suggest you try that first before going straight for the Visa. Good luck!

Re: Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa

Hi, I went ahead and applied because I purchase regularly from amazon and felt like it was lost money. Lol. Got approved 2.5k today and $40 GC. Thanks for the idea. I will aim for the visa one later down the road. I still have two for my 5/24 and I don’t have any cards I want in particular for now. Maybe Cap One Savor but.. who gets approved for those?!

Re: Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa

Your AAOA is very weak right now. I'd wait until next year before applying for anything else if I were you. Congrats on the new card! Just remember, if you keep apping your next limit may be in the hundreds or you may end up with just denials. Let your AAOA go up some and you'll be in great shape!

Active Cards: Chevron Texaco, Amex BCE, Barclays Ring, Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Best Buy Visa, Marvel MCMust garden until 2/1/2022 to hit my goal AAOA. Smiley Indifferent

Re: Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa

Yeah, 3 years AAoA seems more solid for good cards huh? Next year is the goal, my first year of discover ends in october so I’ve got something to do till the end of the year. I think i might hit savor next since they’re looking for established but also not a lot of cards. I can handle the inqs too. But yes I don’t plan on apping anything else. Thanks!
