Applied on 11/14 and it went into processing... got anxious this afternoon as I hadn't heard anything.. gave the new accounts department a call and after verifying my account information, she delighted me with an approval!! 

This is my first charge card! I'll be able to hit the welcome bonus easily, as I have to pay for a mausoleum crypt in the next few days.

I kinda realized that.. but.. oh well.. 

Yes, thank you. A close family member of mine will be passing this week after their short but very determined battle to win against stage iv cancer. 

On an ironic part, I was surprised there weren't any processing fees charged by the cemetery. I was able to use my BB&T Spectrum which is 1% on normal purchases and an additional 10% when you deposit into your checking. Then i'll use my Gold card to finish off the remaining balance. All in all, with the bonuses i'll have saved close to $3k.
