Well I was pretty excited the other day when I got my first $10,000 SL. It was the BankAmericard. Bank Of America quickly burst my bubble however when I noticed the limit on my other BOA card, the Cash Rewards, was reduced from $9100 to $7500. Pushing UTI from 30% to 40% on my 0% promo period that goes until June 2020. I was told I had to wait 12 months to recieve a CLI on the CR card and finaly got one about 2 weeks ago from $5000 to $9100.
Congrats on yer approval.
Sorry that they robbed Peter to pay Paul.
BoA has been known to "steal" limits from other cards on approval
Congrats on the approval!
I don't really understand the whole "robbing Peter to pay Paul" thing... unless its needed to get approved at all. They could have left your CR's limit alone and given you $8,400 on the new card.
Maybe they figured getting $10k on one card would be more exciting for you, even if they had to steal from your other card to give it to you.
If utilization on your CR concerns you, perhaps you could call and have some of that $10k moved back over.
Congrats on your CLI!
You lost $1600 on your CR but gained $10k with new crad. Except for the util, a nice tradeoff
I'm now wondering, if this is in fact because of an internal limit being reached, if it means no SP CLIs coming my way.
BoA gives 50% of your stated income as your credit ceiling
That's good then. It's still weird they would lower my limit when I'm not at 50% of my income with them. I guess I'll be waiting for the CLI button to show up again in 3 months.
