More like a 355 day CLI. I apped for the Everyday card in late October last year. Got a $2,000 starting limit and looked forward to the (now defunct ) backdating and 61 day CLI. I waited 63 days just to be safe...DENIED. Got the denial and the letter stated "Not enough experience with Amex" or something like that. Ok...They are playing hard to get so I waited 90 days and tried again...same message. I have been trying off and on since that last denial. FINALLY at almost the one year mark I tried again. Tried for $6,000 and got countered with $4,100. Thanks Amex...for keeping my sock drawer company from now on, that is.
Sorry to hear it took so long for some CLI.
What is your usage volume of the card? What are your scores?
It's important to keep in mind that the 3x CLI is a reference for the maximum CLI progress one can achieve at a given time frame.
It is decidedly not a reflection of the typical or average CLI, and nothing guarantees that you will receive any CLI at all.
With Amex, as with any creditor, the primary deciding factors for a CLI are still: income, credit rating, and spending usage of the card.
Their 3x policy does not diminish the importance of those factors in any way. It just enables us as borrowers to better strategize when we apply for a CLI and how much we ask for. The decision is still unique to each borrower, and "No" is always on the table.
Congrats on finally getting a CLI!
Usage was heavy throughout, but many payments were made to keep utilization in check. Scores hovered between 740-755 during the almost year of use.
Congrats on finally getting your CLI
Welcome to the board!
Ouch!

Well it's more than I've gotten from them. I've been with them 14 months and haven't been able to get a single CLI, even on my card with only a 2k starting credit limit.
Since one of my 2 revolving Amex cards is the JetBlue card, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when JetBlue moves over to Barclays at the end of the year.

Very true. My last CLI was .6x from $6K to $9600.

+1 to this as welll.. Also depends on income, dti and many other factors. Congrats on the CLI although it isn't what you wanted. Least it is backdated you said and that makes it worth its weight in gold if you got a good backdate.
