I'm shocked to be approved for a new blue amex card with a $2000 limit yesterday.
I had a chargeoff with amex back in 2006 and thought I was blacklisted for sure. I also got approved for a citi thank you reward card with a $6000 limit right before that.
I had multiple charged off citi accounts in the past as well.
The weird part is that amex and citi approved me with 3 existing paid judgements,1 chargeoff and scores under 700.
Pretty strange!
Congrats!!! I also got approved with AMEX with recent collections, and 2007 chargeoffs and scores under 700 at the time with over 15 INQs on EX.

I dont know what my EX score is.
I currently have a cap one $500 CL= 42% Util
Home depot $1,500 CL= 0% Util
furniture store card $1,500 CL= 0% Util
I have a dense file with over 33 close/open accounts including a mortgage and auto loan.
I also had only 5 inq. 2 in the last year
So was the chargeoff with Macy's or American Express? I'm confused.
I had multiple chargeoff accounts on my file in 2006 including Amex and Macys.
Amex fell off after I paid in full but Macy's is scheduled to fall off in sept.
Will Amex backdate my membership to when I first became a member in 2004?
I'm also not sure if this will negative affect me file since my original account with them was charged off.
Congrats! Those approvals blow some long-held theories!
I just logged on to the website and it says member since 2004. I'm assuming that the card and my credit report will relect the same.
9 year old tradeline back from the dead!
Maybe there is hope for those of us who IIB Amex in '09 BK to the tune of $30k........or not!
