Amex Auto Luv!

Who says Amex doesn't like when you carry a bal. Went from 25.5 to 30k, now my new highest limit.
Typically I pay in full, but due to some unexpected expenses over the past few months I've had to carry a bal (Currently about 4k). I'm a little surprised as this new limit is almost 65% my stated income.
Thanks Amex!

Current overall utilization about 11%.
Last score pulled by Amex has me at 799.
(Now time to lower that utilization and get back into the 800s!)

Re: Amex Auto Luv!

I see that you ask for a porportionately small amount when requesting a CLI with AMEX. Any particular reason? The nerds are in consensus when it comes to AMEX. They say to ask for 3x your current limit and at worst, it will end up doubled.

Lol, 800's are so overrated. Give me a 799 any day, this way you are always striving for the 800's not trying to maintainSmiley Wink

Re: Amex Auto Luv!

This increase was auto.
Account started a 2k, I did the 3x to put me at 6k, and then again for 18k. Stopped asking after that, I don't need over 50k, heck I don't even need 30k. Plus no need for a FR.

Re: Amex Auto Luv!

On the contrary, if the CLI seems too big, that is only because you see it as an enticement, I would submit. That is to say, a 50k line will certainly help maintain with ease, a very respectable debt to credit ratio. That UTIL excellence will be shining when you go to buy something big or invest one day. Take the 50k and enjoy it. Just...don't spend it! ✌️😀

@AverageJoe
I kinda just stumbled into the 800s. How about just striving for lower interest payments!

@TaperRandy
If credit lines entice me I would have busted out a long time ago, lol. Usually my utilization is much lower with scores in the 810 range. 50k does have a nice ring to it!
