You mentioned soft pulls for these cards. Are you saying they never appeared on your report? What was the process? Did you just complete the pre qual and apply from there?

Amex will softpull 95% of the time on Experian IF you are a current card holder.

BB&T is known to use only a soft pull when you use the prequalify link. BB&T soft-pulled my Equifax file and it shows up as "BBT PreQ" under soft inquiries. 

Yes, both cards were APPROVED with only softpulls.

Is that 95% a published figure? I know that odds are it would would be a SP but never saw where AMEX made a related disclosure.

I have other BB&T cards with half the limit of this card. Two months ago, opened a BB&T checking to take advantage of $200 bonus offer. Just checked qualifier and was offered all 3 cards again. 

Not bad for 2 soft pulls, not bad at all !

Did try the newly added Lexus Pursuits pre-qualify link and was offered 8000 but knowing Comenity, YMMV, did not proceed. Plus, I have very strict criteria for wasting a hard pull. Comenity does NOT even come close to merit a hard pull.
