Hi peeps,
Following the advice in this and several other posts- http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Amex-CLI-FR-Question/td-p/4973029
I went ahead and requested a CLI on my Amex BCE.
My previous SL on this card was 25k and I had requested for 40k. The system prompted me about income verification and I hit cancel. I then tried lowering the request to 34.5k and it was instantly approved.
Now I received 2 letters in the mail dated the same day, one requesting ITR 4506T and other acknowledging the CLI. Just to be sure the card isnt blocked or frozen, I used it over the weekend for a small charge and it went through.
Now I am thinking, since the IV automatically sent me both the letters, should I even bother filling out the 4506T?
Your esteemed thoughts please?
You got the form because you first asked for a higher limit that required IV. The system generates that form automatically. If you'd done this a few times, you would've received also a few 4506T forms. No need to worry since they approved you for a lower limit that didn't require that form. You're good to go.
Your first request prompted the 4506T, the second granted you the credit line increase. Both generated letters. You can toss the letter for 4506T request in the trash. You are good to go with the credit line increase.

Congrats on the CLI! Just curious, did you go that high to help on UTL? or because your 30, 60, 90? To each their own, but i would not personally request such a big CL on my BCP. I mean, i only spend about $500/month on groceries. Not bashing, just trying to understand why such a big CLI.
Fair question. Yes, it was certainly for a higher UTIL.
Also, this the only Amex product I have and use to for large purchases, I use my other reward cards for everyday expenses.
