5/27 Update: I guess the $18k was just an auto CLI because now I've got $25k or pretty close to it.
I had been debating what to ask for an increase on with Amex as it was over 181 days since my last CLI. I kept analyzing and analyzing and one night (5/13) when I couldn't sleep I decided to ask for $24k on my EDP (from $15k) to hopefully avoid 4506. Well I decided what the heck, since it was about 3 in the morning, and asked for $25k and got the 4506 request. I don't have anything to hide, so I filled the thing out online (second regret, but whatever). I noticed a few days later (about the 20th) that my CL had increased. I THOUGHT to $18k, but wasn't positive because the outstanding amounts were weird. Today, I got this (dated 5/20).
Do you think this is from my request? It doesn't say 'sorry we couldn't give you what you asked for, but we countered with...' or anything like that. It SOUNDS like it was initiated on their end. But is that just an Amex quirk?

Thanks all. But no one has a guess as to whether it was a regular CLI with a timing coincidence or the result of my request?
When I received my auto 1000 increase with them a month ago I received the exact same message pictured. If I were to guess it was an auto instead of your request.
If you dont receive any other correspondence from them they may have given you the auto to try to appease you. But all of this just a guess based off me receiving exact same message on my auto increase.
Yeah, I thought it seemed the same as the last one I got on my TE. Again, could still be their ineffective way to say 'this is all we'll give you' or it may be a temporary way to give something while they review or this could be it. I guess I'll see in the next week or so. Thanks.
