Continuing from my post here, I got a lot of great feedback and decided to try something I wasn't too sure was ever tried before.
My wife has no credit history of her own what so ever. I added her as an authorized user on four of my cards. When a report was finally generated for her, Discover's free scorecard gave her a FICO score of 765, albeit with 0 accounts and 0 years of history lol. She applied for the Amex EveryDay card. Dear Almighty Lord, look what happened.
"You did it. You crazy son of a gun, you did it."
Authorized User accounts were as such (also listed on Credit Karma):
Bank of America: 2 years, 3 months old. 0/20.4k utilization.
Amex Gold: 1 year, 4 months old. $414/NPSL
Amex Gold: 1 year, 4 months old (Duplicate. I mistakenly added her twice as an AU.) $414/NPSL
Chase Sapphire Reserve: 1 year, 4 months old. 0/10k utilization.
Chase Freedom Unlimited: 10 months old. $94/4900 or 2% utilization.
In essence, she had 2% utilization on one revolving card, and 2% utilization overall.
Her AU AAoA would be 1 year and 5 months if my math is correct (85 months divided by 5 accounts = 17 months).
Good gravy that is outstanding! Congratulations for getting her set up for success!
Congrats to your DW on her awesome approval!
Congrats on her first card! Pretty sweet SL too!
Wonderful! That's an impressive approval with an even more impressive SL! Congrats to your wife!
