I've had the Amex BCE for awhile and I also have an Amex Savings account. They've been showing me a Premier Rewards Gold Card in pre-approvals, but I very rarely travel (been there, done that), and (shh!, don't tell Amex!) but my income & spend wouldn't justify a card with $195 AF), I'm semi retired Recently they added a EveryDay card to my pre-qual offers and the terms interested me: 10k MR points for 3 month $1k spend, 15 month 0% interest including no fee BTs made within 60 days. The 10k MR SUB isn't that great, if you don't redeem for travel they're only worth .7 cents when redeeming for a gift card or use for a purchase at Amazon or Best Buy.
But I recently got a 4k Blu-ray player with HDR and have been wanting to upgrade my TV. I decided on a Sony XBR65X850E 65" 4k TV w/HDR, which is around $1100. I shopped around and ABT Electronics had the best price at $1098 with free shipping & no sales tax for AZ.
So I figured out my strategy:
- App'd for Everyday, instant approval w/$6k SL.
- Discover Deals has 5% rewards for ABT, so I ordered the TV from ABT through the Discover Deals link, worth $55 Disco rewards
- I'll BT the $1098 from Disco to Everyday, and have plenty of CL left for the $1k spend for SUB (I never go over 45% utilization on any card, learned the hard way that's CS points killer)
- Everyday SUB worth around $70 for a giftcard or AMZ/BBY purchase, + $55 Disco rewards makes the whole thing worth $125 to me in rewards, plus 15 months to pay off my shiny new TV with 0% interest. 
I planned on staying in the Garden, but Forgive me, for I have sinned and yielded to temptation.
Sometimes venturing outside the garden is necessary.
