Amex Gold Card Approval

I first opened a credit card with Amex (the Everyday card) back in early January and the Gold Card had always been on my mind to get. I was really tempted by the Rose Gold but that went away. However, it came back recently by referral. The welcome offer and benefits of the card seemed to be enough to where I can offset the annual fee especially in this first year. Between the airline incidental fee credit and the dining credit, you're almost breaking even just using those. The appeal was too great so I decided to apply for the card through referral so that I could receive the Rose Gold and the 40k points if I spend $2000 in the first 3 months. I am going back to school in August and figured that charging certain expenses to the card will quickly get me to the amount needed. I have done this a few times before with previous CC's and it has proved to be very beneficial. There was no HP when I applied for the card and it was shipped in just a few days. Also, it came in a rather nice package

Last HP was for a NFCU CLI in early April

Last CC opened was early January

CC's and FICO score below

I posted my referral link to the My Points Guy articles that they had on the Rose Gold Card coming back for a limited time and I managed to max out my referral points for the entire year! Well Done !!! Congrats. Welcome to the party.

I really like my Gold Card.. I use it reguarly each month - mainly for the 4X rewards on Groceries, Resturants, GrubHub...etc.

Even after the first year, the overall benefits/rewards of the Gold/Rose Card can more than make up for the AF if you use the card even only at a moderate level, let alone a heavy level, so that shoudn't be too heavy a concern for anyone.
