I already have a Hilton Honors Aspire card, which was originally a Surpass that I upgraded a few years ago. It originally had a $1,000 starting limit as the Surpass, and it remained that was as the Aspire. Amex never wanting to increase it!

Fast forward to last night, I applied for the basic Hilton Honors card, with plans to upgrade it in a year to another Aspire for a second free night certificate. When I applied it asked to verify my name and address, and couldn't give me an immediate response. This morning I got the email I was approved! What really shocked me was the starting limit, $10,000. A big chunk of that is ging to be re-allocated to the current Aspire card, since that's where all my Hilton spend is going anyway.

Side-note, my previous largest starting limit was my Capital One Venture with $5,000 so getting double that with this was a big surprise!
