Hello!
I was just approved (7/5/21) for the Amex Platinum card 5yr 1m post filing date of my CH11 BK. I did receive a pre-approval for this card through the offers on their site with a targeted offer of 125k sign-up bonus. As my scores were in the higher 600's and 12 inquiries reporting and I was uncertain if the 5yr post BK rule was from filing date or discharge date- I was not confident that this pre-approval was going to hold up but it did!
Instant approval, pay over time limit is only $2,500 and it appears my soft spending limit is ~$5k. I forget which score amex used but they scored me at 678 at time of approval. Only other data point that might mean something is that I did not include Amex in my BK but I did have a an Amex Zync Card (the white card) back in 2011 in college with a low $500 limit that Amex closed on me due to one mishap with a payment (forgot to to update my checking account details so payment bounced- I immeidatley fixed the issue but they still saw this as too risky and closed the account).
My takeway from this approval was that 1) Amex isn't requiring perfect credit for the platinum card since they approved me with "fair" credit 2) for CH11 they are five years post filing not discharge and 3) the pre-approval tool seems to be reliable
I couldn't find a ton of information on this type of approval so I hope this helps others!
