5 inquiries all over 1 year ago, (now 6). 2 of those inq's will come off this month.
No late payments in over 3 years. Five consecutive 90 day lates on a student loan 3.5 years ago.
Oldest account is 17 years. Newest is just under 2 years old.
Capital one card is my only other cc. Excellent history. 3% utilization. 2k limit.
No collections. No other debt besides 2 student loans, ~ 70k total. (no car loan, no home loan, etc)
Income 74k.
I have a relatively thin credit file. Mostly all student loans that are paid and closed in perfect condition.
Just for reference, but these were not pulled by amex: Equifax 724. Transunion. 732
The approval didn't give me any info on the starting limit. I'll post an update when I find out.
I've lurked around these forums for years now, reading cc app and approval posts and some have been immensely helpful.
I have to point out, a lot of times I'm disappointed with the lack of details behind the approval. Posting their new $XX SL and relishing in the congratulatory comments isn't really thoughtful contribution to these forums. Sifting through approval posts without the accompanying statistics is as useful as teets on a bull. So please, enjoy.
@CaptCami yes data point provide a very useful and more complete picture of the circumstances... thank you for providing yours. I know they help me to determine how and when I may better qualify for credit product I am on the hunt for (ie. AOD/AMEX or another) and congratulations on your Surpass approval!
