Good luck to u. I said credit sesame but it was actually credit karma. So both ck and Amex preapproval showed cards for me. But they were the high annual fees 🤔. I wonder if that's the reaso I was able to get my foot in the door?

Congratulations on your new AMEX card!  Maybe your profile changed just enough in some obscure metric to get you the green (platinum?) light?

Maybe that's it? I'm so excited!  I also love that they fedex the card! I got it the next day!  I've never had a company do that before.  I also forgot that it's a metal card.  I never used to care about that but when you actually get it...it's nice.  I picked the rose gold one. I think it' s some psychological about a pretty metal card.

Charge card underwriting is generally more lenient than credit card underwriting.  If you're qualified for one charge card you're qualified for them all.  Now in about six months you can try for an AMEX revolver and it will almost certainly be a soft pull.

Congrats on your approval! AMEX is definitely doing something weird recently. I got their Gold card without even having a FICO score (just a ~690 VantageScore across the 3 bureaus), but they absolutely won't let me get a revolver!
