I have had my Amex card since 12/11. Starting line was 12k I believe. Since then I have asked for modest cli's, ( about 5k each time ). At the beginning they were approved, then I started to get counter offers which I just accepted. I was currently at 38.6k until today. I requested an increase to 45k, they asked for POI, I cancelled. Same thing for 44k and 43k, and I cancelled both request. I plugged in 42k, and was instantly approved. This is my first 40k plus card and it took me 6 yrs to get it. I am extremely happy as it was a goal of mine for a long time. I now know where my top limit is with Amex without POI. Just thought I would share the data with those who might be interested in the inter workings of Amex.
Awesome thanks for sharing!
Congrats there! If you don't mind me asking which card do you have with that limit?
This is on my BCE card.
Fantastic! Lots of patience on your part...
Wow congrats!!
Congrats! Counting down the days to join you myself.
Can you say Vegas? congrats
Congratulations on all of your AMEX CLI's. You have a lot of patience to grow this card to $42k!

Well, with the credit scores in your siggy it's no wonder you didn't get $45k.
I kid, I kid, congratulations and I hope to be there in 5 years.
