Last night, while checking my email, i noticed a spam email in my inbox from a very shady looking email address, though it was titled American Express. Out of curiosity, I clicked into it, and they had a promo showing up for the no-fee HH card with a targeted SUB of 100K for $1000, 25K higher than the public offer of 75K. I clicked into it, and while it initially sent me to the spam website, it eventually redirected me to the application form on Amex, which after entering my basic info, prompted me to log in. I logged in, and after checking that my info was there and the account was indeed mine, i completed the application. I was told they needed to verify info, so I immediately called in, verified the info, and was approved! I double checked with the CSR and he confirmed I was receiving the bonus of 100K.
Afterwards, I clicked through the same link, logged in, but noticed that some features of the website weren’t working (such as Amex offers). However, I then went directly to the Amex site and also checked on my Amex app, and lo and behold, the new card was there!
Anyone else have this kind of “spam” targeted offers? Cause I just received another one again today. Same picture/advertisement, but from a different link.
Edit: I just clicked into the link from the second email. Same process—redirecting through several different sites before reaching Amex. Asked to log in, then put me at the application page again. Says I’m pre-approved and no language disallowing me from receiving the bonus.

I've had that same offer come up for me in incognito mode on the "view all cards" page--labeled "a special offer for you". After I complete my newly acquired SPG biz spend in January I might take it if I can get it to show up again by then. Even though Hilton points are not worth a whole lot--$1000 is a fairly low spend amount to pick up 100k points.
BTW: How much of a CL were you approved for?

Interesting. I'd only been able to get the offer to show up once, along with the 50K Gold card offer, but not after that. This CL was simply $3600, which I guess isn't surprising since I'd just opened the Gold card last month.
I am aware that with all the redirecting, I possibly had given up my login information, so I will definitely keep an eye on that and take some precautions.
Congrats on the approval. 100k Hilton is worth adding to your account.

Yes, I already had the Ascend when I applied. So now I have 2 Hilton cards and am actually considering the Hilton Aspire (though it’d be nice to get an upgrade offer for that some time). No HP.
