So we recently moved and my wife wanted a new $2000 dining room set. Last night, I looked at Wayfair's financing deals and $100 off promo so I decided to apply for a professional account and a credit card. I was auto approved for $900. Cool, I guess. But the dining room set is $2000. So I called today and asked for a credit line increase. Rep asked me how much I wanted and I said "$2000 would be great". Silence ensued for a few moments and I hear the rep say "wow! You are being offered a $4000 credit line!". Of course, I took it. And I'm taking advantage of their 12 months 0% APR deal.
I immediately look up what other cards I have that would soft pull for CLI's and got my Blaze card from $350 to $1000 and Capital One Savor from $750 to $1500.
I guess I'm finally in a spot where I have decent credit again. January 8th marks my 2 year BK 7 discharge date. I'm going to garden until then and try to see if I can get some of the rewards cards or cash back cards I've really wanted.
I cannot say enough how much this community has helped me in this process. My scores were high-400's right after my BK. Now they range between 640 and 690 and with a good sized file.
