So I called in again tonight to request a increase to 5k, the number i called was 800-247-7975 and i talked to a rep and asked for a 5k line to upgrade to visa signature and she reviewed and she denied me again. During the whole call she had a grumpy and rude tone of voice and this is not the BofA/FIA i know and love.... So i called Retentions and talked with a very nice and chereful rep this time.
She apologized for the bad service i received and she took the time to look over my account and find the request and she was able to explain things and read the letter that was going to be sent out, and she even gave me a few tips that i didn't know. We talked for about 20 minutes, She helped make me feel so much better.
The letter references things like "histroical use of account" and the usual things like "too many inquaries in the last 12 months", "lack of installment loan information"
She has seen that i was never late and have very good account history and she said she has no doubt in her mind that if i try again later on sometime this year that i can get the increase and the visa signature upgrade, which was a nice thing to say.
She even gave a shout out to Myfico she said she heard about it recently and wishes she found out about it a long time ago. She was going to tell me about myfico and i beat her to it.....LOL!
So by talking to her it helped me calm down and inspire me to keep trying this year for the upgrade! And the next time i'm gonna call one of the different numbers i have so i can hopefully have better luck at it!
Does anyone think i should recon this by calling 866-865-7839? If so does anyone know their hours that their open.... I first called them after 8pm EST last night and got the recording that their office is closed, so that's why i called the other number in my above post.
What do some of you think i should do? Should i forget the whole thing and wait 6 months and try then?
I think since you took the HP for it, it would be worth your time to try again. They might come back with the same answer, but really it doesn't hurt to try. Last time I tried to get a CLI on my Fidelity Amex, I reconned until it was obviously no good, then I sent an email to the EO. A few days later, I got a phone call and my CLI was approved.
Just another avenue to try if you're willing.

Do we know that reconning won't cause another HP?
So earlier tonight i cold called their EO and talked with a very lovely rep. First I appologized for cold calling them and then I explained my case. She submitted my case and said a credit specialist will reach out to me in 5 business days to help through this process. I thanked her and again appologized for cold calling them and she said "not to worry and that it's what they are here for to provide that human intervention".
So i guess we'll see. Nex time if there is a next time i will email first instead.
I'll keep you guys posted. ![]()

Good luck I'll be pulling for you
Good luck....what is the reason for denial? BofA is usually very generous with their CL...not like Discover
...looks that for you it is the other way around ![]()
Whenever I have reconned a denied CLI, they just brought up the pull they used. No additional HPs for me.
