March was a fruitful month for me in the realm of credit, despite all of the COVID-19 swirl. I posted earlier this month about 3 CLIs from Comenity and Synchrony. In addition to this, I was also approved for a new auto loan by Capital One. Today, what started out as an innocent soft pull check for the Apple Card turned into a mini-app spree, and now I'm off to the garden for a really long time.
Card #1 - GS Apple Card
SL - $2,000
APR - 23.49%
Notes - App required driver's license upload and phone identify verification before approval. This was the second soft pull offer from Apple. The first was for the same SL and APR, which I declined. I applied a day later and ultimately received the same offer, which I accepted.
Card #2 - Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® card
SL - $5,600
APR - ? (I forgot to ask)
Notes - Applied using a passthrough link from AA's website. Applied, received the 7-10 day message. I used a number from this site to call and ask if anything else was needed. Quick address verification and I had an approval 4 mins later. I didn't see this approval coming!
Card #3 - Synchrony Lowe's Advantage
SL - $2,500
APR - 26.99%
Notes - Instant approval. I called Credit Solutions to ask for an increase but no dice. I was told I'll receive a letter in the mail within 7-10 days. It was a good run.
So here's the deal, I realize these aren't the best APRs but I'm thankful that my rebuild has allowed me to get this far. I'm off to the garden to age my accounts, lose some inquiries, and lower my utilization! Also, my scores are up to date in my signature but I think the data points are interesting; sharing below:
Inquiries (more than half of all of these will fall off in the next 6 months)
EX - 21
TU - 25
New accounts - 5/12
Income - $119K+
Utilization - 42%
... Inquiries EX - 21 TU - 25 ...
You've been a busy beaver, 1985 -- Wow Congrats! on your successes & thanks for the DPs.
Congrats on the app spree success 1985!!!
Congratulations on your approvals! 👍
Great job 1985 If you have ability to pif, apr will be irrelevant and plus no one can control a retail apr so why fret?. Enjoy
