So, since around November of 2018 I have not applied for credit. The last thing I applied for was a second VA Mortgage and Home Depot Card in November. Upon being approved for both the mortgage and HD card I disappeared and stayed away from applications. Well this past week has been a different story....
I started out with the following:
Military Star Card - $4100 (12 years old)
Cap One Journey - $300 SL (11 years old)
Cap One Platinum - $2000 SL (8 years old)
Credit One - $500 SL (2 years old)
AMEX - $500 SL (1 yr 2 mo old)
Ashley Advantage - $1000 SL ( 1 yr 2 mo old)
Kohls Card - $1500 SL ( 1 year 5 mo old)
I received an offer a couple weeks ago for the USAA Rewards Card, I put off applying until one day logging into my account i noticed a banner saying your invited. So i applied, well this kicked off everything!...
From that to today:
USAA Rewards Card- $2000 SL
Amazon Prime - $5000 SL
Discover It - 4000 SL
Pen Fed Platinum Rewards- $5000 SL
Lowes Advantage (to replace HD) - $5000 SL (initial SL was $1000 called and requested $20k they countered with $5k)
Citi AAdvantage Plat World Elite - $9400 SL
NFCU Cash Rewards - $15000 SL (Applied Today)
Some may frown on this however I have done well with my previous cards keeping my utilization between 10-20%, now that I have built a decent profile I am heading to the garden for a minimum of a year. I have also froze my credit on all 3 bureau's. Its a success in my eyes as now I will drop my Credit One, unfortunetly don't want to drop the Cap One Journey as it is one of my oldest accounts. I am sure my credit will take a dip now which I am okay with, now I will be sitting back and letting my seeds grow!
