Apple Card

I have been denied for Apple Card countless dozens times for failure of them to confirm ID. So has my wife. Today, someone at GS actually called her. She gave them her Apple ID and answered those ID questions (where did you live, which account is real, etc). They made it sound like it would be at least a few hours, but the iPhone went off pretty quickly. 'That denial was quick', I thought to myself.

They approved her for a $6000 SL. Not great, but not terrible. We decided to accept since they are known to allow SP CLI. It is too bad that I just had to replace my laptop and just changed to a MacBook air (loving the M1).

I also was added as a "participant", their version of an authorized user.

I said I would garden unless Apple/GS finally said yes. Now, back to the garden. Even with great credit, banks don't like new cards when you want a mortgage and I want to be able to get a favorable rate as soon as the market stablizes. Even with a score around 790 right now, why tempt fate?

Such an underrated card. If you are entrinched in the Apple ecosystem, it's a no brainer.  I really love the daily cash back.

My wife's TU FICO9 from GS was 794.

TU has the highest balance on my SoFi card (Black Friday) b/c they didn't update that one report in error, but we expected another "No, we can't verify ID".

I am no fan Apple as a company (I don't like their stance against right to repair, no upgrades, among other things), but I have an M1 MacBook (Black Friday 2021), iPhones, Apple Watch (Black Friday 2021), and now Apple Card. I doubt this card will get a ton of use with only 1% back when the card or number is used and 2% with my SoFi card, I just wanted it. Anytime I can get 2% or more, we'll use apple card.

If you use Apple Pay and shop were they offer 3%, it's pretty good. They also offer decent rewards for those with less than perfect credit, so those people benefit too. For some profiles it can be REALLY beneficial.
