Re: Approved For American Express!

Oh nice. So as a member, when you're approved again for a card, you're hard pulled (credit inquiry), and you're soft pulled when you're not approved, right?

And thanks everyone!

It show the month you apply now Dec in Jan it will be Jan. Then back dates to year first with AMEX. So you apply in Jan and year 2013 = Jan/2013 now if you apply Dec/2013

UTL was at less than 40%, INQ was 1 and Credit Score was about 639 at the time of the application, and it was instantly approved for the AMEX Green Charge Card.

Re: Approved For American Express!

Congratulations and welcome yo the Amex Family.

Based on your credit profile, a revolver would be a tough sell.  I would allow them to see a good history before applying, get your util down and your CS should rise.

Grate op

Since we are in the month where amex back dating is asked about, I have just gotten my card with 12/13 member date and I was wondering that if I waited until January 2015 would that also backdate to January 2013? Or does that only work for the upcoming January of 2014?

Re: Approved For American Express!

So if someone with a new card appllies for a 2nd one ANY MONTH next year-will it backdate to that same month but with the year 2013?

Once you are a cardmember, your MSD is locked in for the year of your membership.  The month of each card will be the actual month THAT card is approved. For instance,

my MSD is 1985.  I just added two more cc's yesterday, so they will both be dated 12/1985.  If I had waited till Jan, it would have been 1/1985.  My CR's will reflect the open dates as well.

I am an ACM on my DHs Delta and BCP, those cards show 7/1985  and  1/1985 BUT on my credit reports it shows this year as an opening date
