I recieved my discharge from Chapter 7 September 12. I opened an account with Navy Federal, my father is retired Navy, on September 29 with a $5 opening deposit. Once the account was open, I applied for a CashRewards Visa credit card and was approved with a $1,000 limit.
I have always heard great things about NFCU, but that is just incredible. 2 Weeks from Bankruptcy, with credit scores near 570, I am back on the road to rebuilding credit. Just wanted to share my sucess story with NFCU for anyone on the fence about opening an account.
Congratz!
Navy was my second application (both successful) post Ch 13 discharge, and my acceptance & approval was just as smooth and easy as yours.
Our experiences are the norm in my opinion. (only the squeaky wheel gets other's attention)
My 3+ months with a Navy CC have been been wonderful, rewarding and effortless.
Best Wishes!!!!
