Title says it all haha. I was on the Experian site browsing my info, and saw the "you may qualify for" list and noticed for the first time it had a few Amex cards. They're not even a remote possibility in my mind for the last couple years as I've rebuilt. So I headed to the Amex page directly and did the prequal tool and sure enough, every card was listed. I've been burned by NFCU with this tool before, but I have an inquiry or two to spare so I said let's see what we get. Swing for the fences and click the Platinum app, with the highest SUB for points and within 30 seconds of applying I get these magical words" SN, you're approved! Would you like your card number now?"
Ok. Like, seriously is this a joke?! No joke. Went through the entire process of getting the app, researching Amex peculiarities etc and waiting the entire time for someone to call me and say, yeah just kidding.
And, as the title and my other posts note: still can't unsecure my Navy card, 20 months later. What a world.
Congratulations on your shiny new Amex Platinum! So exciting!!
Congrats on your Approval.
If you want an unsecured NFCU card, you would probably have to apply directly for one.
I've done that before as well, when all their cards showed as available, but I was declined. Really can't figure them out. They've been amazing otherwise
Grats on your Amex Platinum approval
