I am in the market for a new washer and dryer, range top, and microwave and I found several that I liked at Best Buy. Initally I was going to use another card to pay, but I saw that they were offering 10% cashback if I used the card the same day I was approved.
Well, I was approved for the Visa card, but only $2K. This won't cover the things I want to buy. I understand by reading here in these forums that a lot of people have success with reconing the starting limit in the first 24 hours, but I wasn't sure which backdoor number to call - I see a number for the (now Visa) BB MasterCard / Citi card EO, as well as several other Citi-specific numbers. Which one should I call?
Also, will this card be manageable through my regular Citi online portal, or will there be a card-specific portal to use? When approved, it tried to link it to my Best Buy rewards account, but I encountered an error.
you should have tried for lowes or HD they give higher limits with recon ive seen
Different portal as retail not legacy card.. Call the number on back of the card or the one you got when approved or can goto bestbuys website under CC section and should have the # there as well.. No longer have the card, but yes that generally holds true 24 hours after approval should be able to recon CL with same HP as approval, get them to clarify that.. Say you were planning on buying X,Y,Z but the CL wont work otherwise you will need to use X lender CCC, etc...Best of luck!
Congrats on approval

I have a 17K Lowes card. I went there, and didn't see anything I liked.

Thanks CC. On the "Access your account" page I saw the contact number for the Visa as 1-888-574-1301. I attempted to get access to my account through my SSN, but it wouldn't go through. Finally the automated system put me through to a CSR, who asked for my income information and tried to process a CLI, but it made her connect me to an account specialist who insisted I had to be in store to get a new account CLI. She gave me the number 1-888-908-2031 to call back once I was in the store.

I'm NOT picking sides here, but if all fails at BestBuy, you might look online at Lowes for the same brand/model - they have a LOT more options available online than they have in stock in their stores including most models from most major brands - delivered to the store or your home in 7-10 days. I've found Lowes and HD both tend to beat BestBuy prices on appliances too. Just saying....
If you apply in the store, customer service will call and recon it for you. If you were in the store, they should have called in on the spot.
