Not a card I would have thought I'd get, but I got a mailer for it today, and I'm hoping that getting it will make it more likely I get targeted for the better AA mailers in the future (Platinum AAdvantage and Biz Platinum). After seeing that the mailer was coming in Informed Delivery, I did some research on the card. For a no-AF card, it's not *that* bad...2% on groceries (as well as AA purchases, of course), and the SUB is 10,000 miles and a $50 statement credit with only $500 spend. I'm currently doing MSR on the Amex Hilton Aspire, so if it were any more than $500, I wouldn't have even considered it...but as it is, it was kind of a no-brainer. $7,700 CL is not bad, either, I'll take it!
Note that I would fly almost ANY airline rather than fly AA (or United), I absolutely hate most US-based airlines (I live on the west coast and can get all my domestic flying done on Alaska, Delta, Southwest, and JetBlue). My only interest in the miles is using them for OneWorld partner business awards to Asia, since they seem to be pretty easy to accumulate through mailers (I know, not as easy as they used to be...). We'll see.
Congrats!!
Grats on the new Citicard!
Congrats! I app'd today for my first Citi legacy card (MileUp) and was approved for $2,800.
Congrats on your Citi AA MileUp approval!
