I wouldnt count Cap 1 out of the picture even if you burned them.. They are the forgiving sort...

Finally got the welcome email... says 3-5 days for the card and that after first purchase, they will send me a statement. I suppose that means to use it for something small first and let that small amount report...

Yes, I have heard that they will let you back in. I am awaiting a SOL date in 4.5 months first so I don't trigger a certain event.
@spiritcraft1So you were in the low 600's for the NFCU approval? Yes about the time factor but I have been patient. I got my nSecured card two years ago. Now with the discover and SSL loan, I would like to find #3 and practice the AZERO method for awhile. I should be in or close to the mid 600's in six to eight months, maybe sooner and then have another 16 months until I am free and clear of all derogs. My goal is to plan ahead, not burn INQ's and be ready to be creditworthy again. I have never had a Chase card, so that would be cool. Right now I am 1/24 and will be 2/24 when I find the 3rd secured card. I want a CU secured card or maybe a NFCU unsecured for #3. Not sure if I mentioned but Cap1, Citi, US Bank are all out of the picture for now anyway.
Yep my trans bank card was 626. I do have a checking and savings with them for about 3-4 months. And I do have $50 bucks direct deposited into it every paycheck. But check and see if you can have your nSecured graduate. It's worth a shot. But if you want to add another I would try for an unsecured card. no reason to give money to a bank and get no interest if you can help it. check the pre-qual sites every 30 days after your scores go u and see if you get any bite. I did cap dirty and getting out the of the mess, but they are a good card if you can get back in.

That is excellent. I will see if I can round up another secured card with NFCU unsecured next on the list. I do have a couple CU's that will product change a secured card, keeping your history. With that and then NFCU unsecured I will have only 2 new accounts in the last 24 months and very few inq's. I should get one more little bump when Discover reports.
The card actually arrived yesterday in its fancy little box. I got the cheesy cassette version being a vintage stereo fan. I will find something small to charge on it today to get the "tape" rolling!
Congratulations on your approval!
Another question... I received the card 8 days ago, used it immeadiately thinking that it would then report with a small balance... $17.00. I had read here, and Discover actually says that they will send a statement after the cards first use which I took as meaning they would report then. So far, the card has not shown up on my reports. Payment date is the 13th., with statement cut date a few days later I assume.
I would like it to report a small balance and am surprised it has not reported at all as yet. Thoughts on when this card might report?
