Approved for Navy Federal Amex Card!!

I was denied today by NavyFed for an CLI on my Visa Rewards(5K CL)😢. I was so upset.. I have had the card for three years and never asked for a increase.
But then I did a search, and saw a lot people who had also been denied for CLI’s but approved for the other reward cards. So, I took the chance after chickening out 3 times, and I hit the send button...they instantly gave me a 20K approval!! So happy, and in shock!
Thanks again to this forum for inspiring me to take the leap!

Super Congrats on your Navy Fed $20,000 Amex approval!

You were right to do a search. With Navy Fed, when one door closes (CLI denial),

another one opens (2nd card approval). You didn't specify how much of a CLI you

requested, but I'm sure the amount pales in comparison to $20,000. Well done!

BTW, your Navy Fed internal scores must be really high. The FICOs you listed

are modest, but apparently your 3 year history had a lot to do with your approval.

Congrats on your approval, I’m looking to apply for my 2 card with them also in a couple of months.
Your scores are around where I am now.
So I hope they throw a heavy money bag my way also.

Way to go Navy is the only one i know where you can score 20k on low 600 ficos. Just goes to show scores with Navy really have no effect. I had a 759 Ex and i couldnt even raise my $500 Plat a dollar . lol. Enjoy your new card
