I have a Wells Fargo Platinum credit card with an $8,000 limit. No rewards. I got an offer in the mail for the Wells Fargo Cash Rewards card, which to me makes sense so I can use the rewards (I always pay off my statement balance). I was approved for $5,000. So...will Wells Fargo close my Platinum card now I have the Rewards card? I hope not, because I want the credit bump of total available credit.

No they won't close the other card. You would have to call and request that it be closed. If it doesn't have an AF, I would keep it open. Maybe every couple months put a small charge on it, to make sure it stays active.
Congratulations on the approval!!! 🎉🎉
Thank you! And no annual fee! I'll definitely keep it open. I have come a long way. Have a bankruptcy that drops off in a year and a very healthy amount of available credit. Wells Fargo it started with a $2000 secured card and in 4 years now $13k in credit!
Congratulations on your approval! 🥳
Congratulations!
They will not close your other card!
Congrats on the approval!! Enjoy your rewards earning potential.
If your Platinum has a low APR, still has value in profile. Along with limit padding your utilization.
Congratulations on your approval! 👍
Congrats!
