I asked for a credit increase on my Amex Everyday of double my CL. The credit experts everywhere suggested to ask for 3 times your current limit when ready to go for an Amex increase. For some reason, I just couldn't pull the trigger on that particular request. To ask for 30 thousand more seemed just a bit of a reach. I didn't want to look at a rejection. Declines can ruin a day, a week even. I asked instead for double...and the dots processed...over and over and over...for the full 30 seconds the disclaimer said it would. Holding my breath. Then...boom! "Congratulations, your increase request has been approved". So I'm at 30k with that card. Feels good. I opened the card in Dec. of 17 and am already sitting in a respectable CL. A good Monday thus far. Just thought I'd share.
