Arrival+

Was just approved!  Starting line of $6,000.  Will now be able to close my oldest card, the Aviator and merge the credit line with the Arrival+.  Have really hated being an Aviator owner with little benefit for non-AA flyers and an annual fee.  Looking forward to the sign-up bonus which should be a breeze for me to meet with the purchase of a new home.

Why not earn your bonus, then PC your Aviator to an Arrival or Arrival+ and roll the limit from the new card to the old card?  That way you keep your oldest account and still get the Arrival+ card that you want?

Unless there is some issue with being able to PC the older card, that would be the better plan.

Re: Arrival+

congrats on the Arrival+ but as others have mentioned you might want to see about PCing/combining rather than closing your oldest card. Better to keep that AAoA growing if you ask me.
