BB&T Spectrum Cash Rewards Approved!

First things first I'd like to thank @FinStar for the suggestion of BB&T because I had never heard of them despite there being a few branches in NJ.

I was looking for a card to replace my QS1 because Cap1 won't let me budge from my $750 limit I've had since the beginning of life itself it seems lol. I did a little bit of research on the forums and felt I had a good chance so I apped for the Cash Rewards on Wednesday night (11:28 to be exact). I flew through that the app so fast that I can't even remember the fields I filled out. I received the "2-3 business days" message but from what I read on here that doesn't necessarily mean a denial. 

Fast forward to this morning, I received an e-mail saying Congratulations you're approved! No other details. I called in to inquire and they told me $6500 SL but the interest rate is 18% (I never carry balances anyway). No my question is, when to give Cap1 the boot?

• 3% cash back on gas, 2% cash back on utilities and groceries, and 1% cash back on all other eligible purchases
• Get 10% bonus cash when you redeem rewards into your BB&T checking or savings account

Sometimes, after researching things, alternatives can work in the end

So as far as Capital One, totally your decision since it's not a bad product per se and has no FTF in case you travel outside of the US. If in 1+ year (or so) it doesn't provide much growth, you can definitely entertain a closure if you wish.

Congrats. Nice card. Just wish the cash back didnt have to go thru a shopping cart portal on a rewards site at $25 max each time. But it only takes a few clicks once you figure it out. Enjoy!

I have the same issue with 2 Capital One cards.  Despite my immense progress with my credit (scores over 750), I can still only get stupid little increases in my limits.  They are now $1550 and $1150.  Started at $500.  I asked for a measly $2k increase & it was denied.

But I read somewhere that when an applicant starts with Capital One as subprime, they never advance very far - REGARDLESS.  I wonder if the same would rule would apply if I new apped for Venture or Savor.  Not willing to chance the inquiry to find out.

Congrats! on the BB&T new approval and SL as well.

Seems some of us still have age old issues with Cap One-Not to be left out this is another C1 holder with them not bending just enough to make it fully usable.
