I've complained about this card for some time now. My limit was at $300. Ive applied for maybe 5 increases over the past 8 years. Nothing. I applied in septemper and got declined. I applied again today was asked for $5200 knowing they were going to counter but I was approved. Could not beleive it. I did use my spouses income as well since it stated that I could. I was asked why I needed it and I stated to purchase a home. Im very excited but I wish I wouldnt have sold myself short! Should have asked for 10K. My fico 8 score is 715 on equifax.
I was really going to close this card before the AF in september. It was really worth the hard pull.
Does anyone know if I can actually go back in and ask for more? I know its crazy but just wondering!
If you have the one with the fee, that means it was a borderline approval (which I'm sure that you're aware of). I don't know if Citi will allow you to change to the no AF version, or if they'd make you apply for another one. I haven't heard of a PC between AF and no AF or even store card to Visa. The HP, according to the rep I spoke to, is good for 30 days, and you can request an increase from your online account and put the exact CL that you would like. Obviously YMMV, but it's worth a shot.

Thank you! Yes I knew it was a started card and my profile then was pretty sad! I didnt even realize there was a no AF card. I will inquire about that. I just wish I could have asked for more credit. Do you think that something I can call and do? Ask for a higher line than what I requested?
Congrats on the cli

BBY has three cards currently. AF card, store card, and Visa card. If you get approved without an AF, you get to pick store or visa. It doesn't pick for you. Also, I would definitely call and ask for more or just do it online. Depending on how much you ask for, they may take it over to their "big ticket" department, which is what happened to me on my first increase. Good luck, and keep us updated.
