@crednub wrote:About 9 years ago I burned Chase for $2500 in a C/O. This was eventually settled with a collection agency a few years later. The last time I even tried to apply with them was about 2 years ago and that was a no-go. I always get the no offers message on prequal attempts with Chase, except for the Amazon card but I already have a Synch Amazon card so I haven't felt the need to go for the Chase version, though the warranty etc while also getting the 5% would be nice.
I was at 3/5 and I've been curious for a little while now so I decided to try again and applied for a Freedom Flex. Instantly approved, albeit with a painfully low limit of $1300 and high interest rate at 25.99, but I'll take it for now and hope that it will grow but if not then at least my foot is back in the door!
Data Points:
C/O ~$2500 9 years ago eventually settled with debt collection agency.
Current FICO8s: Transunion - 764, Experian - 766, Equifax - 767
Chase checked Transunion and Experian
Income $60k
I was at 3/5 with 2 prior inquiries on TU and 3 on Experian.
Instantly approved for $1300 @ 25.99.
Congrats OP! And thanks for sharing. I burned them in 2017, so I am hoping that my time to get back in will bec oming up soon once my report is clean and I am under 5/24. I bank with them and really enjoy Chase.
I just switched from the Unlimited to the Flex, i should be getting it in the mail today or next week.
Congrats on getting back into Chase.
I got back into Chase as well through Amazon Prime VS after my BK7 fell off of the EX back in July.
