I called into Barclay to ask for an APR reduction offer. The CSR transferred me to an analyst who then transfered me to someone in Retention. Right when I advised them that I would like to move my CL from my Rewards MC to my CashForward MC, they found a 0% spend offer until December, which I took. They also found an SP CLI offer on the Rewards MC, taking me from $10K to $14K. I then asked if he'd check my CashForward for offers, and they found a similar offer, taking me from $10K to $14K on that card, too!
So overall, I came out very happy, although it took a few transfers and a bit of time to get what I wanted. It seems as if Barclay has made it more difficult to get SP CLI offers, but they are still out there. Somewhere.
Nice sp increases with Barclays!
Congrats. I'm giving Barclay another year (AF about to hit) and then they're going in the round file.

Yeah, I can't say I'm too excited with my current Barclaycard accounts. The Rewards MC is easily bested by every 2% card out there. And the CashForward has far too high of a redemption threshold, although it seems like they frequently have spend bonus offers. I'm interested in the Uber card, so I may apply and then eventually reallocate CLs to that account. We'll see.
Congrats! Good to know that Barclays SP CLI is still a thing and gives me hope for my Uber visa.
If you don't mind me asking, which backdoor number did you use, and what did you say to get transferred to retention? From what I've read, it seems the trick is to get through to someone in the retention dept, because apparently frontline CSR have no authority over SP CLIs, and often don't even know they're a thing.
Sounds like though it was a HUCA situation for you, so might be one of those things that you just have to try a few times until you get a cooperative CSR.
