I applied online for the Barclaycard Arrival Plus MC a couple nights ago. I was looking for a card with chip/pin capability, and I wanted a MC so I can buy a ticket to a Yankees game during their MC only presale next month. lol.
I got the "we'll let you know in 10 days" message, so I figured I was going to get denied. I called this morning, prepared to have to explain a million different ways why I wanted the card, and why my current credit card utilization is so high (35%). To my surprise, the guy put me on hold for about a minute and then came back to say I was approved with a credit line of $10K
Now I have to figure out how to spend $5,000 in 90 days so I can get the 70,000 points sign up bonus. Not sure why they call them "miles" when you can't actually transfer them to an airline, but I'll take the travel credit, no problem
For those who might wonder, my TU score is 718 and I have one inquiry in the last 12 months. My oldest account is 24 years old but I have no idea what my AAoA is. Now my mission is to get that score back up closer to 800. I have three Visas, two Amex, Discover and now I think my "family" is complete with the MC.
Nice! Congrats on your Barclay Arrival Plus approval!
Congratulations!
Congratulations on completing your FAMILY of credit cards!!!
Well, I have all the siblings, but I'm thinking of maybe expanding the family with a "child". lol. I'm tempted to get a Macy's card. I figure, I shop there so much I might as well get a few perks I don't have any department store cards.
Nice plan! I am sticking with AMEX and Bank cards ONLY for my portfolio.

Congrats. It’s a nice card to have and you may want to keep it as your go to card for non category / general spend and travel related spend. I will go for my second one later this year. BC is fickle so tread lightly with them and you will be fine lol
Congratulations on the approval! If you're looking for an easier way to make that spend, I believe Mastercards can be used on Plastiq, etc. to pay mortgages/rent, if you have that expense.
