Hey all,
I was approved just yesterday for the American Airlines Aviator Red with Barclays with a $14,000 SL.
I got the 70,000 miles awarded with one charge to the account and paying of the $99 annual fee within 90 days. Also came with a 0% BT offer for 15 billing cycles after transfer which I plan to use.
I unlocked my reports on Experian prior to submitting.
Exp - 764 / 5 inquiries / 0 within last 6 months
TU - 766 / 2 inquiries from December 2021
EQ - 755 / 1 inquiry from April 2023 (Citi AAdvantage)
Utilization: 10%
New accounts (prior to application): 1/6, 2/12, 8/24
Weirdly, none of my reports have updated an inquiry by Barclays yet, and it's almost been 24 hours. I made my account and login, added the card to my Apple wallet and made my first transaction with no issues.
Is it possible I somehow got soft pulled despite not having a Barclays account, or did they hard pull for sure and it is just delayed in updating my TransUnion (who I hear they usually pull)?
Congrats! - Sir Barclay usually pull's TU.
Agree with the others, I'm sure the HP will show up in good time, but congrats on the approval and nice starting limit !
@OrangeRange Congratulations on your approval with that great SL and SUB! I applied back in February and if I remember correctly, I did get an inquiry within a day or so.
I was initially denied but approved after calling reconsideration, and my account showed up on my report within a few days. If you don't see the inquiry but you do see a new account within a few days, consider yourself very fortunate.

Congrats on the approval! TU pulls have historically showed up late for me. You may get a notification in another day or so.
Ahh I see, thanks for the info! I see you have the Citi AA Executive and Barclays Red. Why do you keep both if you mind me asking? I'm contemplating either changing the Citi Platinum Select to the Double Cash since it never has a SUB and I don't have a flat 2% CB outside of my Apple Card, and perhaps keeping the Red after year 1 or downgrading to the white if possible.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with my starting limit. Only Amex has ever given me higher than $10K initially. I got the Citi version of the card in April and they gave me less than half of that ($6,400).
How long did it take for Barclays to ship your card? After my initial approval email, I haven't received any other notification from them.
Congrats on the approval

It took 6 days get the card in California. It took substantially longer - about 2 weeks - to get the denial letter. Since the denial letter showed up in my USPS Informed Delivery about a week before it arrived in my mailbox, I believe that delay had more to do with the post office than with Barclays.
The card has come in handy lately to get a few more points I'll need (beyond the SUB) for an upcoming flight with my fiancé, along with the AAdvantage eShopping mall.
