Barclays CLI... Approved!

I’m thinking about either getting rid of my Barclays card or asking for a CLI. What CR do they usually pull? I know it’s a HP but may want to try my luck

Called in and went for the moon! I was at $2,200 and asked for a total of $25,000 credit line. Got transferred to a credit analyst who looked over my account and report. They really do hate carrying a balance. They said they couldn’t give me a what I asked for but could give me a total of $7,500.

Why would you ask that much ($25K ) if you only have a $2200 limit ...

The way most people look at it--if you're going to burn a HP on a CLI and they allow you to request the amount you want--you might as well ask for what you'd REALLY like to have....especially if that particular lender is known to counter-offer.

It worked with Hom Depot and Best Buy  last week. My Home Depot card sat at $1,650 asked for $20,000 and got approved. My Best Buy card was at $3,400 and asked for $20,000 and got approved. If I’m allowed to enter an amount I aim for the moon. They will counter with something.
