Depends. My understanding is that if you have a 0% purchase promotion (ex: in the first 12 months of having the card) then no. You will need to wait.
If you have regular purchase APR and are using a 0% BT promo on the card, then yes, purchase APR may be lowered.
One of the things I like most about their cards is that you don't lose grace period for new purchases even if you are carrying a balance on a 0% BT offer.
Thanks so much for the info! I was carrying a little balance on a 0% promo for Apple so I gave it a shot as my regular purchases would still be subject to interest. No SP CLI since I just got an auto, but they did reduce my APR by 1%. It's not much, but I'm marking the calendar for the next one. While I had them on the line, I also rolled my Upromise into this card so I raised my limit anyway!
@lhcole77 wrote:I love me some Barclays. Like clockwork I got APR reductions and CLIs on both cards. Third time in a row, 6 months in between calls.I call 800 number on back of card. I ask CSR if I am eligible for APR reduction. Answer is "Yes, let me transfer you to an analyst who can assist you." After APR is reduced I then ask if a SP CLI offer is on my account. Answer is "Why yes, yes there is." And bada-bing-bada-boom!
Arrival+ APR reduced 2% and SP CLI of $3K
Aviator APR reduced 4% and SP CLI of $3K
I have had nothing but a great experience with Barclays. My profile, payment history and spending habits seem to jive well with them.
Congrats on the Barclays luv. I couldnt agree more, they've been very good to me with APR reduction and 3 SP CLI's . I'm about to call them and get the PC they offered a few weeks ago. I'm done with Apple Gift cards.
Congrats on APR reduction and CLI X2! I'll have to try calling in during the day, since it's over the 6 month mark since my last CLI & APR reduction. I just tried calling them now, but the CSR wanted to submit a "request".

CSR ? Did you not request from the CSR to speak with a Credit Analyst ?
Congrats!
I have the Barclays Reward card and have a small balance, How often do they give CL increases and how long do you need to have the card to get a lower APR? They started me with a $2,000 limit and my hubby just got one with a starting line of only $500. Thanks

Sweet! Congrats.
Yeah they seem to be pretty scheduled on CLIs for every six months, whether it's requested or auto.
