Sooooo....my card converted over from American Express to Barclays today. I got this card back in July 2015 but Amex stopped giving CLI's to this type of card since partnership was ending so i was never able to get an increase. I was feeling bummed today due to Capital One decline of CLI so I called Barclays Backdoor Number and got a nice lady. She asked me a few questions about balances and asked me about a 60 day late on a Bank of America credit card (Only negative on my report) dated Feb 2013 - I informed her that it was due to a layoff. She proceeded to ask me about 3 other credit cards that I closed that has high utilization - I told her that I was paying it down. She asked me how much increase I wanted and I told her I wanted to get an increase from my current limit which is 1,000 to 3,500. She put me on hold and came back with a counteroffer of 2K. She said that's all she can do right now due to my 75% utilization rate. She said with my current report and if I pay down my closed/open credit card balances, I should see a nice increase in 6 months - so that's what I plan to do. Going in the garden until I pay off the closed credit cards. I was AFRAID to call because my card just got converted over but Barclays showed me love! It resulted in a HP but that's fine with me.
Congrats
Congrats! They showed me some 6 month love on my Rewards card a few weeks ago. When I opened it 6 months ago it was an instant approval for $650. 2 days later I called in and asked for a line of $2k and they countered with making it a $1k which I happily took to get my foot in the door with them, A month later they gave me a Apple card at $2k. A couple of weeks ago they gave me a JetBlue by moving $1k from Apple to it to open it. 2 days later they made my Rewards card $2900! Thank you Barclay. They have been good to me so far.
Wow! that sound amazing!! congrats to you also!!!
