Best Buy CLI $12,800 from $1,800!

Woo hoo! I’ve had a Best Buy citi card for 8 years with a $1,800 limit that never increased. Today I called in, gave updated income of $140k with a 770, 770, 766 score set, hard pull experian since auto pulls aren’t working 🙄 Asked for $14,000 and they gave it to me! 🎉 🎊

I thought I was bold for asking $14k from $1,800 🤣 honestly the reason I asked for $14k is I just got a new Bank of America card with that limit and a joint card with that same limit so I’m thinking $14k is what the computer formula tells them to give 🤔 don’t you have to go through a hard income verification for $20k on up?

Yes that was bold from my perspective.

I went from $4k to $7.5k and then $12.5k on my BB card. Got what I asked for each time but, wasted two HPs in the process. Had I known to be bold I'd have asked for a CL to $20k up front. Now I'd need to waste a 3rd HP to reach $20k .

Do the CLI request online. Ask for $20K. If not instantly approved you’ll most likely get a response screen with a number that ask you to call the Senior UW that will handle your case. That’s what we did couple of months ago. Asked for $16K from $8K online. Was asked to call in. We upped it to $20K when DW called in and was approved during that call!
