So I log into my Best Buy credit card account to see how much I will owe for spending solely in Best Buy, since I currently have a 5.99% APR until April for outside of Best Buy purchases. I have recently put a lot of outside spend on the card last month, due to emergency vehicle repair. I was expected my card to be near maxed at $1,921 and change out of $2,000.
But lo and behold, to my surprise when I saw that I still had $878 in available credit versus the expected $78. Citi gave me an $800 CLI! I guess they saw how much spending I did last month and said, here you go, the holidays are coming up, spend some more!
I was thinking of requesting a CLI in March. I last requested a CLI in October 2021 (unfortunately before I became an avid MF user), so I asked for pennies compared to what I should have asked for. The SL was $1,500 and I asked for $500 (which I received). I should have asked for $5,000, but I was completely new to asking for CLIs. Happy to now have a credit limit of $2,800 with Best Buy! Slow and steady growth for the win!
CONGRATS ON THE CLI!!!!!
That sort of utilization would scare the bejesus out of me.
Congrats on the surprise CLI
Grats on the move up with Best Buy!
Congrats on your Best Buy CLI! Also, be careful about the amount of credit you put on a single credit card. You were at almost 100% utilization and that can potentially affect your credit score in a negative manner. I know it may help your credit limit increase with that card but you do not want to pose a risk to creditors. If this card gives soft pull credit limit increases I would definitely do that.
A few of this auto-Cli's this week with BB. Perhaps their warming you up for Black Friday!
WooHoo!! Congratulations on your Best Buy Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
Congratulations on your Best Buy auto-CLI!

I'm sure OP is aware now after spending some time on here about utilization.
Also Citi doesn't do SP CLIs on user requested CLI. Though as evidenced in this thread, they may do auto-CLI which is a SP.
Anyway, @SaintMortichai congrats!
Congrats on your BB Auto-CLI 🎉
Indeed, I will be paying the card down for all the spend I did at Best Buy before the next statement posts. Thank you for looking out for me, @Ontherise2020
And yes, @OmarGB9, you are correct, I am totally aware of utilization and its effects on my score. Thank you both for the congrats!
