BoA Recon Success

BoA came through! Asked for $2500 originally, big fat no, called recon line (senior credit analyst) and was able to get $1000.

Those dogs wouldn't get rid of my annual fee tho......

Card was originally a 99/500 cash rewards visa that I've been running $800 or so through each month. Now it's a normal cash rewards visa with a $1000 limit.

Hoping it grows, it's one of my favorite cards, time to send out another round of GW letters.

Re: BoA Recon Success

Grats on getting it done.

"If there's a lack of money in your life, understand that feeling worried, envious, jealous, disappointed, discouraged, doubtful or fearful about money can never bring more money to you, because those feelings come from a lack of gratitude for the money you have."

"Reactions are powerful creators because they contain every element needed to manifest—they're a combination of thought, belief, and feeling in action. Positive reactions create more positive things, and negative reactions create more negative things. If you can respond to negative situations calmly and lightly, instead of with emotional turbulence, what happens next in your life will be so much better."

Re: BoA Recon Success

Thank you! Very surprised, they're usually tough especially with a 30 day late 15 months ago.

Re: BoA Recon Success

Congrats!

If you're successful with any of the GW letters, let me know. I'm in the midst of trying to clean off a 30-day on a car loan.

Re: BoA Recon Success

Congrats. I had similar situation with 1000 limit at unsecured. Cancelled before annual fee hit. They kept offering to give me 150 for getting regular cash rewards when I logged into Bank of America account. Today I got premium rewards with 20k limit. Once your score hits 700 I would recommend closing card and getting at least fee free version with sign up bonus.

Re: BoA Recon Success

Thank you for the tip! I will try that in 6 months or so, my scores should be over 700 then, maybe 720s. I really want a Chase Sapphire card so once I get that one, I will switch my BoA and then I don't really need any more cards for a year or two until I can upgrade the rest of these.
