@Aim_High yuppers, I'll be getting there some day (I use a Merrill Lynch IRA). The IRA is probably what got my the card in the first place; I didn't know it was hard to get and got it before using this forum. But it really is my favorite card. I love the earning potential of it plus the CR when you have preferred rewards. URs aren't always everything if another card is earning more points per dollar even, if they are only worth 1 cent!
Also.... I think the design is ugly and I'd prefer the old Merrill Lynch bull slapped on to a metal card. That's just me though and probably better suited for another thread.

Yes, as Bank of America's "highest" card, the design should be a little more exceptional or outstanding! They've had some good ones before. Maybe they need to bring them back?? I don't think any of these are currently available.
Yup, I'd love that bluish/black one in metal. Since I use Merrill Lynch and I am a wealth management client, my card has Merrill Lynch on the front with a small bull. I mentioned it to my adviser and he said that it was a common complaint that the card is ugly. I'm hoping someday the Merrill Lynch users will get a separate card or that BoA updates the look for everyone.
Many people probably don't care about the look and feel of the credit card, but with "premium" in the name, I thought it would at least be metal. I got it about 3 months after it was released I think.
All Merrill cards are closed for new applications but at least as of a couple of months ago BoA was still servicing the remaining Merrill+ and Octave cardholders. They did allow me to PC my Merrill+ to a Cash Rewards card about 2 years ago after I burned off and cashed out my remaining miles.
