CAP 1 QS1 NON-SOLICITED CLI - DID MY BUCKET GET DUMPED INTO A BIGGER BUCKET?

So I woke up this morning to an unexpected surprise regarding my Cap One QS1 account-

"Your credit line has increased from $500 to $2,000.
Thanks for doing a great job managing your account. Whether your spending needs increase, decrease or stay the same, we’re here when you need us."

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but I was under the impression that if you started in the lowest bucket ($300) like I did, that you were condemned to never getting out of it... never rising above $1K if you were lucky. This CLI of $1500 makes me wonder if my bucket was dumped into the next level bucket, maybe? Has anyone else had this type of increase from a starter bucket?

Wow!  That's fantastic.  How old is your card?   Did you just hit the year mark or is it older than that?

I got the card Oct 17, 2018, when I was just starting my rebuild & before I found this board.

  I have read just a couple success stories, mostly they put a TON of HeavyLifter spend    ..to get.

Looks like you got a great credit steps increase. That card is still bucketed and likely won't grow much more.

I got the Cap 1 QS1 five months ago.  It had a SL of $1,000.  I used it a lot  (paying in full) hoping for more than the $500 credit steps CLI, but they notified me a week ago that I was getting the increase to now a $1500 CL.  I'm not complaining.  I was just hoping for more.  It's my highest limit credit card in my rebuild, so I am thankful for the card.  You post gives me hope that maybe I will get a decent CLI in six months.  I certainly didn't with the Platinum at the year mark, but I didn't use it enough, I guess, in Cap 1's eyes.

LOL  And I put a lot on my Cap 1 QS1 (even $1900 the last month),  paying several times a month, and, still, all I received was the credit steps CLI to $1500.

When I first got the QS1, I was putting heavy use on it, but basically sock-drawered it after I got my Disco card in January. It was my lowest limit card- now my NFCU Platinum is my lowest at SL $1K. I’m hoping to ask for a CLI with them in Feb...
