Once again, i like to share my experiences with members, because that is how i learned and built confidence in understanding and handling credit cards.
As i have read, CHASE is stingy on CLI. Well a month or so ago, i made a thread that chase gave me a 200 Auto CLI on a card i had with them for years. (from 500 to 700) after i had opened up my Chase Freedom. It was suprising, but on the wrong card! lol.
Well today i sign on and see my Chase has gone from $500 to $1000!! I am shocked because i have only had the card 4 months, in this quarter (due to the bonus categories) havent charged more than 100 bucks on it. I hear CHASE is stingy with CLI, so i am very surprised at the AUTO CLI. I never carry a balance on these cards, and usually pay off within a week after a charge. I was about to SD this chase card with the new discover more/it changes(and a higher $1500 limit on my discover after a recent auto CLI) , but i see somebody is fighting for my swipes. I now need to see if i can close the old generic chase card and transfer that limit over to my freedom without a Hard Inquiry. I hear i can, i hear i cant. story changes depending on who i talk too.
This is all shocking to me beacuse i started this CC journey in August this year with a 670 score, and last i checked (a month ago) it was at 683 after all the cards reported. Im tempted to see if i am now closer to my year end goal of 700 score. I know these CLI will help my utilization.
I just wanted to share this with others in the mid to high 600s, or with baby limits with chase wondering if there is hope to get more, without going down hard inquiry blvd.
because of the hp i assumed it was not an AUTO CLI? I just wanna make sure they dont HP on AUTO CLI, because im trying to stay below 2 hard inq on all my reports.
