I got approved with a 715 FICO EX score, 28 inq's on my Report and about 8-12 new accounts popping up. I also had 3 other Chase cards and a Chase checking account as well that probably helped me

Its incredibly picky about matching the info they have on file for you. I use to try and try for a pre-qual, and nothing. One day, I got a pre-qual letter from AMEX with a slight variation on how I had been entering my info on pre-qual sites. Tried that exact thing on the Chase and it brought up pre-quals. Even right now..I have TWO cards with them, and even when I click through the pre-qual link when logged into the Chase site, if I skip my middle inital, I get no pre-quals. -__-
You made me curious and tried it and still none myself
The pre-qualify site works the same for me... If I use my full first name I got nothing. When I used the shortened version of my first name I had offers.
My address also has the "Court" instead of street or drive or whatever. I can't remember which way it was, but I had to either use "Ct." or "Court" and the other way didn't work.
I was approved for the Freedom first at $3500 and then a few minutes later approved for the Amazon Visa for $5500 but for some reason they changed the approval to $6500. Then I applied for the CSP and got the 7-10 days. When I called they said they would only approve me for two cards in 30 days but that I could move the approval from the Amazon Visa to the CSP and close the Amazon so I did. However, 31 days later I applied for the Marriott and was only approved for $5000. When I received the card I called to get the limit bumped up and was told it would be a HP so I declined. YMMV.
I never get prequalified offers but that's because I removed myself from prescreened offers permanently. But as to the chances of approval for a CSP it's really a YMMV sort of thing. It helps to do business with Chase as a recon rep has told me that they (including the automated system) can see the other banking relations you have with them and use that to help determine if your qualify for a set card or a set CL.
Starting Score: EQ 675 | TU 688 | EX 702Chase site never said I was pre-qualified for any of their cards but now I have the CSP, CS, Marriott, and Freedom
Thanks everyone for all the comments and input.
I can't say i agree too much that they approve pre-qualified offers most of the time. Last december i got really excited when they sent me an offer in the mail for a 50k miles signup offer for United Mileageplus. At that time of course I only had my Discover card for a few months and hadn't got my car loan yet.
I applied with the code they provided and lo and behold I didn't get it.
I'm not too keen on the Freedom - the cards I really want are the United card and CSP to rack up all those frequent flyer miles. Very temped to take the plunge but I'm trying to wait til my Discover is exactly a year old because they seem to not approve people with short credit files, ie. < 1 year. Even after a full year of good reporting on my Discover, I still have doubts they might even approve me. Chase is a pain to get in the door with and tbh i'm pretty sick and tired of begging them all these years for a card!

CSP - United cards are probably never the first cards people get that has no prior relationship with chase (Checking account) and thin files? Freedom. Slate or the Amazon Visa might be your best chance of getting the CSP and United card long term
I think we all meant the prequals on the site. They ping your TU file when you run the prequal. Not the letters which just come from marketing. Huge difference.
