Thank you!!
6 years ago I was homeless in my early 20's. Defaulted on every student loan. Had a $600 Charge Off on a WF card. Had a medical collection (for $30...) on record.
Starting credit score was a high around 480. Fortunately saved from homelessness by a family. Spent all of my money working three low wage jobs on my student loan debt. Asked the loan agency for deferment and they granted me 6 months. I landed an entry level corporate job and used all of my money to first pay rent and utilities, and then student loans to get caught up to present.
I ignored the credit card at first because it was already CO'ed. I then opened an unsecured CapOne Platinum card with a $300 limit. Used it for groceries and paid the bill in full each month. I then made a payment agreement with WF to pay off the CO in full (I did not try to bargain down debt).
After CO was paid, I applied for an entry tier Barclaycard and was denied with recon. I opened a second CapOne card with a QS1 limit of $500. More responsible spending led to auto CLI to $3300 and $3800. I then opened an AMEX BCE of $5000. Responsible spending auto CLI'ed all of them again. Then slowly my util grew. Next thing I know, it's a large balance.
I had changed jobs three times and had salary increases each time.
I used my 401k to loan money to pay off debt. Waited a short while for util to come down, and score shot up to around 700 for two of three CB's, and then applied for these cards.

Congrats on the approvals! Is the BoA card for BTs?
Thank you!! Yes it is. I had a $6k balance on the AmEx and I transferred $5k to the BofA card to pay it off interest free. I'm going to lightly use BofA and utilize the others as I can. Discover IT will be used in the match categories and CSR will be used for nearly the rest to fund my honeymoon
